昆明领馆通知缅商云南打击非法边贸

根据企业家提供的消息，云南省政府已经通知缅甸将于4-5月打击非法边贸。

为期两月的打击非法边贸行动将在红河、德宏、文山和西双版纳进行，直至5月31日。

一位缅甸企业家说：“缅甸将会就这次为期两月的打击活动与云南省政府合作，以便有效控制非法贸易猖獗的地区，确保边境地区稳定而可持续的发展。木姐-南坎边贸协会已经像许多组织下发了一封信函。”

这是一封来自缅甸驻昆明领事馆的信。

一位经木姐出口的出口商说：“可能会对中国一侧参与非法贸易着采取严厉行动。这可能会冲击缅甸的出口，因为我们很依赖中国市场。如果中国进行抓捕没收，缅方将处在困难地位。据说中国对中国产品是视而不见熟视无睹的。大部分缅甸的出口都走合法渠道。打击非法贸易是容易的，封锁火车站和公路便是。”

据缅甸商业与消费者事务部，本财年中缅边贸较前一年增加近20亿美元，超过50亿美元。

缅甸自然资源正经由边境非法贸易通道出口到中国。

China to crackdown illegal border trade

The Yunnan provincial government has informed Myanmar about a crackdown on illegal border trade in April and May, according to entrepreneurs.

The two-month crackdown will take place in Honghe, Dehong, Wenshan and Xishuangbanna until May 31.

A Myanmar entrepreneur said: “Myanmar will cooperate with the Yunnan government on the two-month crackdown in order to effectively control the region where illegal trade is rife and ensure the stability and sustainable development of the border region. The Muse-Namkham Border Trade Association has distributed a letter to many organisations.”

The letter comes from the Myanmar Consulate General in Kunming.

“There may be strict action taken against those involved in illegal trade on the Chinese side. There may be an impact on Myanmar’s exports as we largely rely on the Chinese market. Myanmar’s side will be in a difficult position if there are seizures by China. China is said to be turning a blind eye to Chinese products. Most Myanmar exports go through legal routes. It is easy to crackdown on the illegal trade by blocking both the railway station and the highway,” said a rice exporter who uses Muse.

China-Myanmar border trade this financial year has exceeded US$5 billion, up by nearly US$2 billion from the previous year, according to the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs.

Myanmar’s natural resources are being exported to China through illegal trade routes along the border
