Malaysia army to set up hospital for Rohingyas

DHAKA: Malaysia army will construct a hospital for the Rohingya refugees from Myanmar in Cox’s Bazar of Bangladesh, said Malaysia Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
达卡消息:马来西亚军队即将在孟加拉考克斯巴扎尔(孟缅边境孟加拉一侧)兴建野战医院救治来自罗兴亚难民。
Earlier, the Malaysian DPM announced to build the Filed hospital facilitating medical cares to some three lakhs of Rohingyas sheltered in Cox’s Bazar camps, said an official of Bangladesh Foreign Ministry.
Later, while visiting the Rohingyas in Cox’s Bazar’s Ukhia Monday (October 16), he said that his country’s army will be employed to construct the hospital.
The hospital will reside 50 beds, offering combined treatment to 50 patients.
“Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina permitted me to establish the hospital here. Malaysian army, Bangladesh health ministry and Bangladesh High Commission in Kuala Lumpur will materialize it. Malaysia is ready to launch the construction work at anytime”, said Hamidi.
“Like Malaysia, all the international quarters should stand beside Bangladesh, as part of the long-term plan to down Rohingya crisis”, he said.
Lauding Bangladesh’s contribution to save the Rohingyas, he said that Malaysia along with the ASEAN countries will work for mount pressure on Myanmar for Rohingya repatriation.
He left for Malaysia after wrapping up his two-day official visit here Monday.
